Recently, the Daily Mail reported that sex for women who turned the age of 35 is quickly declining or, at least, people are more sure to agree to declining sex in their relationships than they used to be. Now the same paper suggests this trend could be cursed on fact that men prefer Internet porn to sex. Paula Hall, who is known as couples therapist, claims that 20 years ago porn was something people had to search out and purchase. Nowadays, every home computer has it, and more and more guys are ruining their private lives in the end, while they can please their sexual desires without their wives’ participation. The “cartoon pictures” of satisfaction and arousal in pornography also provide the entire generation of guys ridiculously fantastic expectations about what real sex has to be. Men can’t be aroused without the unusual stimulation of porn pictures, so their thoughts of what girls like in sex are also wrong. Of course, it’s impossible to have a discussion nowadays about anything without mentioning the recession; something Paula Hall notifies could also give a reason to declining libido in guys. Lots of men have lost their jobs, and lots more are freaked out about losing theirs, or have to work really hard to make up the work that usually has been done by those who are now redundant, she explains. “They come back home to their wives with stress hormones overwhelming their bodies, and they just aren’t able to get aroused under those circumstances.” Well, stop! That’s not all! Didn’t you think, we could discuss guys’ declining libidos without somehow putting at least a bit of the blame on girls, did you? Paula Hall tells she has heard guys complain that their girlfriends or wives have put on lots of weight, that their bodies have changed a lot, or that they don’t want to make an effort to shave their legs or make themselves sexually attractive in any other way. Don’t you think these men are right? Hall says it in some of her “Dear Wendy” columns and repeats it again: both guys and girls are responsible in a relationship to take care of themselves, to keep fit and put effort into making themselves sexually attractive to their sexual partners. When women don’t or when they stop shaving their legs in the winter as it’s not worth the time, should they really be blaming men if they watch porn instead of having sex with them? Of course, Paula doesn’t offer the only explanation guys lose interest in intercourse and increasingly turn to pornography that is because their sexual partners have quitted putting effort into their sexual appearance, but she doesn’t think it’s a part of the dilemma – along with complex issues inside their relationship, either. What do you think of it?
